Activation limit reached for CS5 <edited-kglad> Production Premium

Hi guys. I am upgrading my PC and have an error I cannot seem to get around. I get the message activation limit reached. So I went ahead and deactivated CS5 Production Premium on the old PC. However, it still works and I'm still getting the limit message on the new PC install. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling on the old machine, but I get a runtime error, so I can do neither of those things. I'm quite frustrated, as I have done what I was told to do, I have deactivated the production suite but it still will not allow me to use it on the new PC. Looking for answers. I have zero interest in renting Photoshop. i want to own it and I"m quite happy with my CS5. Photoshop is really the only thing in that suite that I use

is the cs5.5 in your title a typo?

@kglad

If I remember correctly, I think CS5.5 suite included Photoshop CS5.0, and then updated to CS5.1, not CS5.5.

ah, thank you for the reminder @Peru Bob .  but there's still a mention of cs5 production premium and cs5.5 production premium.

When you upgrade computers, you must also budget for new software that's compatible with it.

CS5.5 came out in 2011.  It's neither sold nor supported, and has not been updated to work with modern systems.

It MAY be that your computer did not communicate with Adobe... what is your operating system and browser?

One possibility...

TLS 1.2 is now required to connect https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/eol-tls-support.html
-If you have Windows 7 be sure to do the EASYFIX.MSI in step 2 of the above link
-test your browser https://clienttest.ssllabs.com:8443/ssltest/viewMyClient.html

Both machines are running Windows 11. Thanks, I'll take a look. Oddly enough, Photoshop is working despite the situation, so if it doesn't bother me anymore, I won't poke the bear

your ps could be on its 30 day trial.  open it > click help and see if activate is clickable or deactivate is clickable.
