Question

Activation limit reached for non-subscription Adobe desktop applications - Can anybody help (the support team cant)

My PC has broken down and I couldn’t deactivate my licence. Now I want to install Photoshop Elements 2024 on my new PC, but I’m getting the message
“Maximum number of computers reached”.
How can I start using my paid product again?
Support does not have access to products that have been registered with a serial number.

As it seems impossible to deactivate the licence without the PC on which I installed the programm, I’m going to ask a solicitor what the legal situation is in Germany. I don’t believe it’s lawful in this country to refuse me access to the software.

That is correct… the ONLY way to recover an activation is for you to DE-activate on a previous computer

Your license came with 2 activations.

If both are used up, do you have access to another machine you can deactivate PS from?

If not, you’ll have to get a product with new codes.

    Thank you for posting, @Oache86!

In addition to the helpful advice offered by @kglad please see

for additional information on managing any remaining activations for Photoshop Elements 2024 in 2026.

As suggested by Kglad, you will need access to a previous installation of Photoshop Elements 2024, and the computer must be up to date enough to contact our servers and send the deactivation request.

there's now only one way to do that, now.  in the past, there were several ways including asking adobe support to reset your activation count, but that no longer works.

use the computers (if they exist, still run AND can communicate with adobe's deactivation server) with the activations and open an app > click help > deactivate. if you've already uninstalled the app before deactivating, but still have an operable computer, you can reinstall on that computer and then deactivate.

the big catch is can those computers communicate the deactivation with adobe's servers.
