Activation [notCS5] CS6 issue on new computer Valid License verified

Recently I purchased a new computer and tried to reinstall CS5 Design and Web Premium on new device.

Install failed. Contacted Adobe and the license was verified.

Was told I needed to upgrade because CS5 is no longer supported.

Asked why since I have a valid license. Response try reinstall again. When it failed to activate the support from Adobe ended.

What is the solution to get my CS5 up and running.

is your serial number for cs6 an upgrade from cs5?

if it is you'll be prompted for your serial number when first installing cs6 and then the installer will check if the qualifying upgrade (eg, cs5) is installed and activated. if it fails to find an activated qualifying upgrade, you will then be prompted for the qualifying product name and serial number.

so, what exactly is your serial number for and what exactly do you see after entering your cs6 serial number?

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but you must accept that legacy software is 10+ years out of date and not designed for use on modern computers and operating systems. It might work or it might not.

The best you can hope for is temporary use until Windows updates and/or Adobe make further use of the software impossible. At some point you'll need to find modern replacements.

If download are you sure you have the correct download to match your serial number?

CS5 will run on Windows 10 Pro but yes, its unsupported. What is the problem with installing it?

Actually it is CS6. However when I enter the serial number it says it is not for this product and gives me the options of CS5.

I tried CS5 just to make sure and I get the same message when I try using CS5.

I have verifed that the serial # is for CS6. I have tried running as administrator still no success.

Mac or Windows and exactly which version of the operating system?

Current Mac operating system absolutely will not work

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10 or Windows 11
-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window
-and/or select Run as Administrator to assign FULL Windows permissions
