Assuming you are on a Mac: if it works on a guest account more likely the problem is a corrupted preference file. You can go to your user Library folder and freely toss out anything related to Acrobat. What you need will be recreated on relaunch. You will find Acrobat information in the Acrobat folder, in the Application Support folder and the preferences folder.

On Windows it is a bit trickier.
