Adobe Acrobat XI pro crashing

I have downloaded today but after setting it as my default PDF viewer. When i select a PDF, select edit, then try to change text, it just loses the PDf and reverts to a previous screen i was working on.

Why might this be?

Acrobat XI is for some time now end of line. How could you download it today?

What machine did you install it on? (OS Version, ram, free disk space etc)
