Adobe application manager not updating software

Upon clicking the update icon Adobe Application Manager opens up fine, I click the update button and the Initializing loading bar appears but doesn't progress!!!

I am running Version 7.0.0.189 (7.0.0.189) of Adobe Application Manager.

I am using the Creative Cloud and have all of my software up and running fine.

I have reinstalled the software three times and restarted my machine three times.

I am using Mac OSX 10.8.2.

I have installed Photoshop CS6, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Premiere pro and cannot update them at all.

Can anyone suggest anything other than downgrading to Lion operating system?

Same ongoing problem. (Windows 7)

The Application Manager stumbles over its own feet and won't update itself. Error messages vary: either "a problem with the server," or an error number.

Well at least your AAM will start.  Mine doesn't start at all any more for some reason.

I'm using Creative Cloud Connection app version 1.0.223.0 to check for updates; AAM is at version 7.0.0.128; running on Mac OS X 10.7.5.

Any ideas what to do?
