Problem: Adobe Application Manager “property list” data file damage

As of 09/20/17 my Disk Utility (Disk Warrior) has reported two damaged “info.plist” data files that cannot be repaired. There location paths ar as follows:

1.) “MacHD/Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/LWA/amtservices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/”

2.) “MacHD/Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/LWA/asnue.framework/Versions/A/Resources/”

Please advise for protocols to correct/replace this issue regarding damaged “info.plist” data files. Note: Right after installing macOS and Adobe CC app updates, as well as uninstalling Legacy Creative Suite apps, I deployed my Disk Utility (09/01/17), which reported no problems of any kind. The only other issues I have experienced have been with Photoshop freezing up while working with hi resolution files and 3D filters that required a force quit to escape the application stall. That’s probably a memory issue.

Thank you kindly for your time and thoughtful consideration,

Leonard Zangs

Correct answer leonardz35055358

Thanks for the update Leonard.  I appreciate the details you have provided.  You are correct using the Uninstaller is the normal method to remove the applications.  You are also correct that all applications will need to be removed to safely remove the Adobe Application Manager.

In addition to using the process listed in Uninstall or remove Creative Cloud apps, Leonard I would also recommend downloading and running the CC Cleaner tool.  You can download the CC Cleaner Tool at Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems .  The CC Cleaner Tool is designed to be used in conjunction with the Adobe uninstallers.  So you will want to run each of the uinstallers, available in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers, prior to running the CC Cleaner Tool.

Let me know if you have any additional questions Leonard.

Good morning Jeff,

once again I’m late out the update gate. My apologies.  I just wanted to thank you for all of your responsive correspondence as well as the insightful help that you provided. Your details and direction are the protocols that will streamline my performance for correcting the present issues and avoid self inflicted problems that I very well could be oblivious to.

Thank you very very much,

Leonard

Leonardz35055358 outside of the disk utility what specific errors are you receiving?  How exactly are you opening the Adobe Application Manager on macOS 10.12?

If you can please post a screen shot of the error it would be appreciated Leonardz35055358.  You can find complete details on how to post a screen shot at FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?.

Hi Jeff,

thank you for your responsive correspondence. My apologies for not getting back to you sooner w/a screen shot (attached) and answers to you inquiries.

1.) Outside the disk utility there haven’t been any errors..... thus far. The “errors” are what I’m trying to avoid. It is my understanding that “info.plist” data files are storage files often used to store preferences. In some instances damaged “info.plist” data files can cause system instability. This is my concern regarding my damaged Property List data inquiry.

2.) I haven’t directly opened the Adobe Application Manager other than opening the folders within that correspond to the path location of the damaged Property List data files (“info.plist”).

3.) The Disk utility reported NO errors after the initial installation (09/01/17) of Adobe CC Applications. As of 09/20/17 is when the Disk utility reported 2 files that had damaged Property List data.

Please see attached screen shot.

Many thanks, Leonard Zangs

Thanks for the update Leonardz35055358.  If you are not seeing any specific errors when using the Adobe applications then I would not be overly concerned about the errors being reported.  If you are concerned you are welcome to remove and reinstall your Adobe applications.

If you can update this discussion with the Adobe legacy, and CC, applications you are using I can provide more specific details regarding the installation and removal process Leonardz35055358.
