Adobe Audition 3 CS2 not supported - licensing issues

Hey all....first of all....admittedly I am not a 'computer person' and its the first time I have every posted on a forum so I could use some help here. I just bought a 'new' version of Adobe Audition 3 (still wrapped) and I went through the run around of a previous question on this forum where I was told to download a version that doesn't require licensing because mine wouldn't. I was given this link... Download Adobe Acrobat 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 products and from there I uninstalled the version I had and installed the version ADBEAudition_ESD1_WWEFGJIS.exe provided in this link. It still required me to provide a serial number and I was told it wasn't valid. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong here?

No, not really, unless you bought it without a formal transfer of ownership between the two of you.  If it was indeed new, as in never used/registered by the seller, then you should be good.   You need to own a legit license of the software in order to properly take advantage of the CS2/etc offering Adobe provides.  You should be able to acquire the activation code you need thru the page I linked.

The serial number that came with your purchase won't work either.  You need to get the serial number from the same place you got the software.

So buying the software from an individual basically means I am SOL? ha ha
