Adobe CC 2015 .pkg keeps freezing on 'Running Package Scripts'

Hey guys, I've found a few posts about this during a general search on google but I have to admit explanations start to get a little complicated and I get lost - would someone be able to offer some help in dummy terms?

I have a staff account with a university which allows me to download the Adobe CC 2015 (64bit) package for Mac - it downloads fine. I double click the .pkg file which opens up the installer - go through the process until 'running package scripts' and it freezes about 3rd way through every single time.

I've made several attempts, having to hard boot my mac each time as I can't close/cancel the installer. I noticed then that I had several adobe folders on my hard drive from the multiple attempts at installing but none of the applications will open - so I used Adobe Clean Up Tool to get rid of everything adobe-related and started again - but still it freezes..

I'm running Yosemite 10.10.1 on a Macbook Pro (late 2011)

I'd appreciate any help guys,

hope you've had a lovely xmas!
