Adobe CC and macOS Sierra compatibility issues

As alway, I'm concerned that an OS upgrade will interrupt my workflow.

Has anyone taken the plunge and installed macOS Sierra?

I have noticed that there have been some issues with the macOS Beta versions and Photoshop and Indesign (see threads below)

Possible Bugs Mac OS Sierra when using Adobe products?

Known issues - Running Photoshop CC on macOS 10.12 Sierra

Seems Siri and Photoshop zoom+ have the same shortcut.

Anything else?

I also have big problems. Hope Adobe will deliver an update soon. Before Sierra Adobe send updates updates updates updates. Now we have to wait.

Problems in indesign: Most shortcuts do not work. E.g. duplicate by using mouse and the keyboard. Had the same issue in Illustrator.

So please Adobe update cc sieraa ready. Thanx.

After installing macOS Sierra, my previews in After Effects no longer render in real time, even when no changes have been made to a video file. I've tried every workaround and the only thing that worked is if I preview in full screen, which is very annoying to do

Align Objects functionality appears to have stopped working entirely - it doesn't matter what you are aligning or how you want to align it, it simply won't play.  If anyone has experienced this and figured out a workaround, please, please share!

Some of my Adobe (and other) applications started crashing after updating to Sierra. None of the known tricks helped me.

The solution that I found was making a new account. Sine then everything is perfect. It was a fairly easy, but not so obvious workaround.

Try running your app in the guest account. If it works, create a new admin account and delete the old one. Good luck.

It seems like there are major issues with many of the Creative Cloud apps. My advice is NOT NOT UPGRADE to macOS Sierra if you wish to retain your current workflow.

Hi all,

after updating to macOS Sierra After Effects CC is a nightmare.

Firstly, my favorite version CC 2014 13.1 is no longer usable - the current time indicator does not move on Ram preview, making it impossible to find errors as you preview, a guessing game that is not practical. It moves with the space button, but not at real fps...

Secondly, i downloaded AE CC 2015.3  trial in desperate attempt to finish my work, but to no avail. It renders terribly slow, I mean... 2014 renders a 1200 frames of the project for 1 minute and 2015 renders it for 20, if it is in the mood. Sometimes it renders it for 2 minutes, but it is happening once or twice a day, then it is stuck for no reason and renders at 1fps per second at most. No settings make it usable, timeline previews are super slow as well - no matter what the fast preview option is at.

Machine is iMac 27, 16GB , 2.93 i7, SSD 256GB ATI HD 5750 1GB with secondary monitor for the timeline.

Is there something I can do to fix CC 2014 to run nicely again?

I just installed macOS Sierra (version 10.12) today - I get the same error message when trying to open Adobe Illustrator CC (2015.3) or Adobe InDesign CC (2015). It recommends uninstalling and reinstalling the product, but that doesn't correct the error. Adobe Lightroom was just updated with Sierra support yesterday. Hopefully, support for the other products will follow quickly.

I did see a post on MacRumors which suggests Illustrator is compatible and other Adobe apps can be used if you reinstall Java 6, but I couldn't find a way to do that. (macOS Sierra 10.12: Compatible Apps | MacRumors Forums)

Configuration error

Please uninstall and reinstall the product.

If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

Along with those , try providing full permissions to Adobe folder under System Library and then try to launch the application and check :

Close all Adobe applications .

1) Right click on Finder icon and  select "Go-To Folder"  option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.

/library

3)Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe

.

Right click on Adobe folder and select "GetInfo" option.

Expand the Sharing & Permissions section.

Click the lock icon in the lower-right corner. Enter your administrator user name and password when prompted, and then click OK.

Please click on '+' symbol , it will open list of user accounts. Add Currently logged in user name and Administrator option,

Then provide "Read & Write" permission to Currently logged in user name and Administrator option,.

Make sure that both Currently logged in user name and Administrator user accounts have Read and Write access.

Important step : Click the Gear icon, and select Apply to Enclosed Item. Close the Get Info dialog box.

[ Once we provide full permissions to Adobe folder and select apply to enclosed items options , the " Read and Write " access will apply to all subfolders and files present inside it , Both Adobe PCD and SLStore folders will be present inside Adobe folders and gets Full permissions ]

Then Launch the Installed CC apps and check.

Photoshop CC Save Image For Web in Sierra

I'm unable to select an image file when 'Saving For Web' in the 'Save As' finder window in Photoshop CC running on Sierra.

There are times when I need to save a new image using a similar name by selecting the existing file, which matches the name in the 'Save As' dialog field. Using Photoshop CC under Sierra I'm unable to do so because of the inability to select existing files in the Save-as finder window.

I am able to right-click, so my workaround is to right-click on the file in question, select 'Rename' and then copy and paste the filename into the Save As form field.

Also, the Format, Settings & Slices options in the 'Save As' finder window are off-center, situated to the far left.
