Adobe CC desktop app incorrectly reporting Windows upgrade needed.

I am unable to launch or update Lightroom CC from the Creative Cloud Desktop App as I'm being told that in order to run Lightroom an upgrade is needed.

As can be seen from the attached screenshot, my Windows 10 version is newer than the required 1703 version so I believe I'm receiving this message incorrectly.

I have tried logging out and back in, and I've also re-installed the Creative Cloud Desktop App but the problem still remains.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Davidd66287341 thanks for the update.  If you are not able to establish a chat session at Contact Customer Care then I would recommend using a different browser, phone, or tablet.  The current browsers settings may be blocking the chat experience.

It's nothing to do with browser settings, when you select "Creative Cloud All Apps: Lightroom CC" and "Download and Install" the "Would you like to contact us" Chat option is greyed out. That seems like an Adobe support policy, not browser settings.

This happens from different browsers and on both PC and Android phone.

Have you been visiting torrent sites on this computer?  Was an alternate release for Adobe applications previously installed on this computer?  If you previously did have an alternate version of Adobe software installed then I would recommend reviewing Resolve connection errors with Adobe Creative Cloud, and Creative Suite applications as the same connection errors will block that chat experience.

Nope. No previous Adobe software installed. I've tried the solutions in the "resolve connection errors...." link above and there is no issue...I can see the 2 Adobe images just fine.

For the current error, please see Apps panel doesn't show installed Adobe Creative Cloud apps for steps you can take for Lightroom Classic CC to show as installed in the Creative Cloud desktop app, Davidd66287341.

Also tried this. No difference. The CC Desktop App is still prompting me to install the already installed program.

Ok, I am sorry, Davidd66287341.  I don't have any additional suggestions to offer at this time.  Support is still provided for Lightroom Classic CC; if you can establish a chat session, under any topic, then it is possible to transfer the interaction to someone who can assist you directly.

Davidd66287341, if you apply the 1809 update for Windows 10 are you then able to update Lightroom CC successfully?  You are correct the system requirements list that you need version v1709 or later at Lightroom CC system requirements .

Are there any other pending Windows update besides the 1809 update?  For more details regarding the current releases of Windows 10 see Windows 10 - release information | Microsoft Docs .

Hi,

I forced Windows to upgrade to the latest release from Microsoft as it hadn't yet been rolled out via the normal update channel, then checked for any further updates once this was installed. So I'm running the most up to date version I can currently obtain.

As you can see from the attached image, the same problem is still occurring.

I can actually run Lightroom by starting it from the Windows Start Menu, but I'm unable to obtain the latest updates so this is a frustrating issue.

Davidd66287341, your screenshot indicates that you are using Windows 10 Enterprise Edition.  Do you manage the computer and network you are installing on?  What type of Creative Cloud membership are you utilizing?
