adobe creative cloud desktop installer does not install.

i am trying to install the creative cloud installer.  the adobe creative cloud installer meaning the 'downloading creative cloud desktop' progress bar during the install goes about half way then this installer window disappears. no desktop icon is installed, no error. it just stops in the middle of the install and the install window goes away. i have run the cleaner and tried installing again, i have checked my firewall, i have checked my software install rights. all are good. i am on a mac book pro using os 10.10.4

i already have CS6 on my mac. but that should not affect the install right? i am trying to evaluate cc edge.
