Adobe creative cloud installation error code 205

hi there,

I have purchased single app photoshop cc in march 2016, since then i have no problem with its updates or usage. But with some issues of my pc, i have erased my hard drive and i  re-downloaded adobe creative cloud. but while installing i am facing error code 205. i have tried in different computers with different networks but it repeats the same. looking for solutions..

I think that error code means your download is corrupt. Try downloading the actual installer from here

Note its very important to follow the instruction highlighted on that web page otherwise the server will deny you access.

When you get Photoshop 2015, install using admin privileges and then use the desktop app to update it to the current version. You may need to logout of Creative Cloud and back in again to convert from a trial version to the full thing.

thanks for helping, it worked. i downloaded the photoshop cc 2015 (20150529.r.88) version and it works. i logged into my account and tried to update it to (20151114.r.301) latest version, but dont know what went wrong but its not updating. any solutions for it ?

Hello again,

I don't know why your having so much trouble, the desktop application is usually quite reliable, but you can get all Creative Cloud updates without using the Desktop Application fortunately. Go back to ProdesignTools

Towards the end of the page you'll see this:

Click on either for Windows or Mac OS. By the way you will need to follow those important instruction as before to gain server access.

I have marked the version of the updates you need-no need to download any earlier versions, but make sure you choose 64 or 32 bit.

The three I marked are Windows versions but the Release numbers should be the same on the Mac page.

You will also need to update Camera Raw. and Bridge.

Finally download the latest version of the desktop app as its possible the one you have is not working.

As before install all of these with Admin privileges and then reboot the computer.

By the way ProdesignTools is an Adobe affiliate and not a third party website, in fact the downloads come from Adobe servers. I must admit I rarely use the desktop app for updates as I find having real installers on the desktop tends to be more reliable and of course if you ever need to reinstall its much quicker with the source files.

if you uninstall adobe apps, run the cleaner (per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and restart your computer before reinstalling.

that said, "Users have reported instances where software/hardware firewall settings caused download errors to occur. The most common error associated with this issue is error 205. Other errors could result due to the software/hardware firewall’s configuration."
