adobe creative cloud installer fail

I can't get my Creative Cloud Desktop App to work... when the icon used to appear at the top of my Mac (MacBook Pro 2010, 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 1TB HDD), and I have previously purchased and downloaded PSE13 successfully.  Now I want to download a trial of A illustrator, I can't.   The original Adobe desktop App kept coming up that it was missing or damaged, and recommended to reinstall it, taking me to reinstall the Adobe desktop manager, which leads me to download the Creative Cloud Installer.  When I open the Creative Cloud Installer file to download, the progress bar gets to approx 60% and then just disappears with no app installed.   I have been going around in circles now for hours... firewall on and off, trying different browsers (Chrome, Safari), refreshing the Cache, etc etc.  NO error codes come up and none are logged that I can see.  All my systems and browsers are updated.

From a complete novice at this, it is very frustrating and not user friendly.   Please help!

SecaBlue what steps have you tried so far to resolve this error?  Have you completed the steps listed in Error "Failed to Install" Creative Cloud Desktop application?  If not then you are welcome to update this discussion with any questions you may have regarding the steps within the document.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your prompt response.   Unfortunately for some reason I do not get any 'error' messages or codes as per the link you sent me.  However I went to Adobe Utilities folder to find the Adobe Installers folder but the only icon that exists in this is my PSE13 Uninstall icon.   There is a Creative Cloud folder but only a pim.db icon file in it?

So this is what happened (from memory).  I had existing at the top of my Mac screen (in the top bar) a small Adobe icon for what I believe was the Application Manager or App?  It was a little 'A' symbol, which had a '1' on it.  When I clicked on this, it brought up a message that the App could not be found due to being corrupted or missing, and gave me a link to re-download it here : Get Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App & Adobe Application Manager ‌ Since I am a Creative Cloud member, I clicked on the appropriate link and brought me to here: Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe CC trial  Which then downloads Adobe Creative Cloud Installer, which is, as per above, as far as I get when the installation simply vanishes 60% through the installation bar progress.   I also tried to download the Adobe Application Manager 8.0 (as I have this folder on my computer but cannot open this program anywhere)... but get this error when trying to install "We've encountered the following issues, Installer failed in initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem".   and when I click on that link, it takes me here: Adobe - Adobe Support Advisor  So I visit the Adobe support section link... and go around in circles again.   I have also run the Adobe CC cleaner tool successfully yesterday in an attempt to rectify the issue.  It did clean off a lot of expired trials but didn't help with the problem of CC actually working to purchase new trials and software.

This is all done with my firewall disabled and no other protection enabled.   I have tried on both browsers and even tried upon reboot this morning.  Same result.   I have worked with Adobe CC in the past, successfully downloading a full version of PSE13 with no issues.

Does all this make sense?   thanks

Further to this (and now I am REALLY annoyed)... I can't even open my own FULLY PAID version of PSE13, as it wants to also open the Adobe Application Manager, but says "Application Manager is needed to resolve this problem. However it is missing or damaged.   Please download or install a new copy of the application manager from : Get Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App & Adobe Application Manager which, as above does not work!!!  and now I can't work, can't deliver clients work, and have a complete halt of my business.

What is weird, is that after I wrote my initial message above, I opened and used PSE13 last night for hours with no issues.  Something is definitely wrong here...
