Question

Adobe Creative Cloud is missing or damaged - Windows 10

Hello,

I currently have a Windows 10 computer and I recently purchased the Student Edition of Adobe Creative Cloud. After I downloaded and installed it, along with downloading several softwares (ex. Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Affect Effects), everything will run perfectly.

But after I close down whatever software I'm using, the next time I go and try to open one of the softwares, this message will pop up:

"Adobe Creative Cloud is needed to resolve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the Creative Cloud from 'http://www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp'."

I've redownloaded it several times now, and the same exact thing happens every time. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Thanks,

Cody

Hi Cody%20Zeis,

This seems to be a permissions related issue, as it works when you reinstall Creative Cloud desktop app however, later on when you launch any CC application it again gives you the same error message that "Adobe Creative Cloud is needed to resolve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the Creative Cloud".

I would recommend you to check the permissions on the below mentioned locations, it should have "Full control" selected for "Everyone":

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
  • C:\Users\"User_Name"\AppData\Local\Adobe (**AppData is a hidden folder, see: How to Show Hidden Files in Windows 10 ).

If the permissions are not correct then please refer to the "Verify file permissions" section of the following help document to correct them: Errors "Exit Code 6" and "Exit Code 7" installing Adobe CS6, CS5.5, CS5, Premiere Elements, and Photoshop Elements.

And, If the permissions are correct, then please create a new "Admin User account" and try to replicate the issue there and let us know the results.
