Question

Adobe CS6 "installer failed to initialize"

Have been installing CS6 manually across our site for about a week, suddenly the install has stopped working and I receive the following error;

"We've encountered the following issues

Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."

When I click on the link to "Get Adobe Support Advisor", it says its discontinued! - Irritating

Cabsupportinfo are you installing using a fresh copy of the installation files?

For the specific error I would recommend reviewing your PDApp.log file.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret your PDApp.log file at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover.

Hi,

We have the installation files stored on a server and to install we simply run the setup file from there on each computer.

I've moved your question to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.

Ok - so have managed to fix the initial problem, I can now run the installer, however when trying to activate with our serial number and email address I get the error "connect to the internet and retry" although the computer already has an internet connection, obviously I can just use it in the trial period for 30 days, but its going to be a pain having to re-register all the computers again.

Any ideas?
