Adobe download assistant still on my Mac

I am attempting to download Photoshop Elements 15 and Premiere Elements 15 onto my Mac (a 13" retina pro running OS Sierra) but everytime I attempt to open the downloaded file and run the installation, the program quits unexpectedly and tells me that "DownloadAssistant" has quit unexpectedly. Now I know that Adobe Download assistant has been discontinued so I attempted to delete the application off my Mac, only I can't find the file anywhere on my Mac. I've looked in applications, in downloads, in ~/Library, it appears not to exist but clearly it does and I dont know what to do.
