So the sorry state of affairs is this. I had bought and paid for Lightroom 6 and Photoshop Elements 2018. I then took out a basic subscription to see what the current Lightroom and Photoshop looked like and I was impressed but only ever wanted to have the subscription for the year.

I have been running the stand alone products and subscription side by side for the last 7 months until this morning where the Creative Cloud app (The one that tells you of updates) would not load. I found download for it and reinstalled it.

I then tried to launch Lightroom 6 and it updated it to an old version of CC, I don't want do this!!!. I contacted the support team who told me I could not run stand alone products and a subscription, I told them I had been doing this with no problems. They sent me a link for the download of LR 6 but it has again 'updated' it to an old CC version.

I have just tried to run Elements and that also does not run. To make matters even worse the Creative Cloud app now doesn't run either!

I have spend good money on stand alone products and am currently tied into a subscription, but is seems Adobe have stolen my stand alone products.

What can I do?

LR 6 and the 2015.x version are exactly the same program.

If you the user has LR 6 installed and then sign up for the Photography subscription it will turn your install of LR 6 into the 2015.x version.

this more than likely happened because you use the same exact Adobe ID for both.

There may be a way to revert it to the stand alone perpetual version once you stop using the subscription.

Take a look at this link.

But I have been using the two side by side for 7 months and Elements also now does not run are they really saying I can't run these two side by side. The subscription and stand alone apps used to be displayed as their proper versions in the Creative Cloud App.
