Adobe Illustrator CS6 Update (version 16.0.4) Installation failed

I've had it with Adobe updates. I haven't been able to get Illustrator to update since 16.0.2. Half the time the installation fails. I'm running CS6 CC on my Mac Pro running Lion. I even tried uninstalling Illustrator and then installing manually. That didn't even work. I had to restore from my SuperDuper backup. Also, if I unistall the software, then I also lose my panel customizations.

I'm getting the Exit 7 error in the log.

I'm at a loss. Any thoughts?

What is the error with which this installation fails ?

Can you share the Update logs with us ? Put it on the pastebin.com website and share the link here

Also, do you have Mackeeper on your computer ?

Read thru the following help document to see if it sounds like it might be relevant to your problem:

Here's the thing. I've been trying to update since 16.0.2. This is now the 16.0.4 update. With that update I had to uninstall and reinstall, and even then I had to do some major hand-holding to get it to work/launch. I don't think that I should have to uninstall and reinstall my software with every update. It's ridiculous (I'm not criticizing you, I'm criticizing Adobe) and I don't have time for it. I don't want to lose my customized panels every time just because Adobe can't manage to release an update that will install for everyone. I don't need a software program that is that delicate. I trashed everything and restored it from last night's SuperDuper backup, so I have no update logs.

The error code I keep getting is U44M1P7.

I do not have MacKeeper on my system. I was using Clean My Mac. No longer.

I'm inclined just not to update it ever again. I will see if I can chat with them on Monday.
