Adobe InCopy 2017/CC with Windows 10 1709

I'm having real trouble getting inCopy 2017 to run on Win10 1709.

I've tried numerous downloads/re-downloads and installing/uninstalling under different user accounts (local admin, as the intended user). Windows 'fails to launch' the application.

In addition to the above, there's pertinent errors from CreativeCloud which appear every log on - they mention a .dll not configured (it looks like an adobeupdater.exe service) or something related to this, it appears at every login, but Creative Cloud does work. Again, reinstalls etc don't help.

I will try to attach the error logs later and screenshots. Any help would be appreciated.

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 3 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Thanks for the tips/file cleaner. I followed your steps above, running the cleaner under local admin and the users profile, for CC and 'All components' - then re-installed. Same error. Creative cloud generally opens without issue, if I launch InCopy, it begins to load (splashscreen appers) then after 5-10 seconds, forces itself to close down with the standard windows error and the event log entry:
