Adobe is expensive, is there another way?

I have been using the Adobe Creative Suite for years and years. All the way back to 2006. I've upgraded computers and switched to the online subscription years ago. I pay at least $33 a month. Just to use Photoshop! And, I do use it a bunch, but rarely do I use anything else. I miss the days when you could buy it and use it. Done. That's like $400 a year. I'm a very, very small business. I do personalized art. And I did teach paint classes. Last year rocked me because I had to cancel classes and go virtual. Which was a struggle to just get even three people to sign up.

Aren't there other options?
