Adobe is Ruining My External SSD's

Bought a brand new SanDisk external SSD. Was trying to improve my work flow off of 2 computers and decided to install LR Class and Photoshop on to the SSD. However, that didn't work well so I removed the programs from the SSD. Went to reinstall them and accidentally started the install to the SSD. I hit the cancel button. The program then froze and would not finish the cancellation, eventually ending in a force quit via task manager and a restart of my PC. After the restart I plugged the SSD in and Windows advised it was damaged and needed repaired. Ran the repair tool, said there were no problems found. The SSD then no longer worked, it wouldn't transfer files and if it did it would crash after 5 or 6 photos. Managed to pull them of 5-6 at a time and tried to reformat the SSD. Still showed as damaged and the repair tool still said nothing wrong. Returned the SSD for another brand new one. Same thing...in my hurry I once again accidentally started the install to the SSD and cancelled it. Same progression...I cannot return this SSD and get a new one. I'm about to be out 350$ not to mention a ton of time. While the rush is my fault...the rendering of a SSD useless is yours and I'm pretty upset about it as your program shouldn't be doing this. Especially when all I'm doing in cancelling the install.
