Adobe Lightroom5, don't want to pay again

Hi, I bought Adobe Lightroom 5 in March 2015. Recently my laptop need wiping due to a virus. So now I need to reinstall Lightroom. However it appears I didn't have an adobe account, I don't remember setting one up when I first installed the program. So how can I download the program I've paid for?

The 20 digit serial number has expired.

I have paid for it, and cant see a way of getting around having to pay for it again...?

It won't accept the 24 digit serial number. So I guess that's me done then?

For future reference, could I have saved Lightroom on an external hard drive before wiping my entire laptop?

No, Adobe applications need to be installed... transferring from drive to drive does not work.

You might want to check another version before giving up. There are various revisions of version 5.

I still have the card with the 24 digit serial number (long day, mis-counted the numbers!)

Does this change it to slim to maybe?!

Try it.

Download and install Lightroom 5.7.1 from the links provided above.
Enter your 24 digit serial number
See what happens. If successful, register the software with Adobe.
Report back here on the outcome.

I'm not sure how this helps me, my Computer was wiped of all programs and I've lost Lightroom as part of this. I had no Adobe account, so there seems to be no proof I ever had it?

You have the links needed for downloading. If you have no record of your serial number, never registered the product, and have no proof of purchase then you chances of getting an activated version 5 working for you are slim to none.

Serial numbers don't expire. They work perpetually provided you've got the hardware and operating system to run the software.

A valid serial number is 24 digits, not 20.

You can download the software at any time from Adobe

Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows

Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh

You only need to download the latest version (in your case 5.7.1) and install that.

It'll run as a Trial for up to 30 days until you enter a valid serial number. After 30 days it will stop working.

So your challenge is going to be locating your 24 digit serial number.
