Hi all!

So, I was doing some winter/spring cleaning and found a pretty old 2011 adobe photoshop elements 10 that I found! It was unused and unopened. The directions are super vague and I am trying everything but I am not succeeding. The serial number on the box has never been used, but when I tried to install it, it told me to enter it and I did. However, it still doesn't work and I keep getting an error. I have tried to newer 2015 cc trial for free for class, and deleted it when it expired and it keeps saying my subscription expired, which i get, but I have a physical CD and a serial number. Why is it still not working?

Some information about my computer that may be helpful is I have a MacBook air late 2012 and have the newest software running, maybe 10.12 i think? Is the computer too new and the software too old? Am I even installing it correctly? Did someone maybe guess the serial number? Or did the serial number just expire because adobe is now on a subscription basis?

Anything will be helpful so thanks in advance and happy new year!

Correct answer Ned Murphy

The serial number will not be found on the outside of the box, especially if that is the outside that was visible to anyone walking by in whatever store it came from.   Find your serial number

Your last explanation is probably going to matter more than anything.  Chances are good that your new operating system is not going to support software as old as Photoshop Elements 10.  When they made the latest versions they were not considering making it work with legacy software.

Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra)

Your best bet for using old software is to have an old machine that was made to work with it.
