Adobe Premiere 6.0 won't reinstall on a reimaged computer from the ORIGINAL disk

Question

A few years ago (3 or 4 perhaps) I purchased Adobe Premiere 6.0 - specifically for Photoshop, received the cd and installed it fine. I've used it for all these years with no issues.

However, my computer system which started as a Win 7 Profe 64-bit OS and later upgraded to Win 10 (most unfrotunate on my part) crashed so I had to have it reimaged.

I'm once again at Win 7 Professional 64-bit, but when I inserted the original Adobe Premiere 6.0 CD, it refuses to execute other than to open the setup page. Clicking on any of the buttons for the different products produces nothing. Has this disk been deactivated, and if so, is there a way to correct this problem? I know I paid a hefty price for this product and I fell I should have the right to reinstall it on the same computer it was originally installed on.

Have any others had this experience, and if so, is there a solution?

Do you mean the Premiere 6 from about a dozen years ago, or Premiere Pro CS6?

You say you had your drive "reimaged" but does that mean a restore from some kind of backup, or did you wipe the hard drive and do a fresh install?

If a restore from backup, I will GUESS that something about the restore process did not work properly, and you need to wipe your drive and do a fresh install

Putting an original CS6 disc in the drive should result in an install, just like the first time... there is no way that I have ever heard to deactivate an install disc (getting old software to run with a new operating system is a different issue... but CS6 is fully compatible with Win7)
