I find it not only extremely annoying but an outright impudence that Adobe silently deletes the Adobe Reader Setup Exe after the setup has been initiated. I have never ever seen this behavior in any other program. What the heck are the programmers thinkiung? You DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION DO DELETE a downloaded file on my computer. I suggest you change this virus like behavior ASAP.

Thank you. But your answer has absolutely nothing to do with the issue I raised.

    So let's try it again:

    1. I download the latests setup file from the Adobe website.

    2. I save the downloaded file to a folder of my choice.

    3. I navigate to this folder and find the setup file.

    4. I start the setup.

    5. The setup file will be deleted without any prompt or confirmation.

    6. Read this again.

Yes it will move itself to the temp directory once you invoke the installer.  I have passed on your request to the product team.  You are welcome to also log your own request utilzing our Feature Request/Bug Report Form.

I_hate_buggy_program which OS are you using?  Also could you describe how you downloaded Adobe Reader?  Did you have the setup.exe in a particular location or had you selected to download and run the installer?

I'm using Windows operating systems - it doesn't matter whether it is XP or Windows 7. It happens with any one of them.

Of course I download the Setup from the official source on the Adobe website and save it on my computer before I execute it.

To locate the installer please complete the following steps:

    1. Press Windows R to access the Run Command
    2. Enter %temp% and press the Ok button.
    3. You will then find a program labeled install_reader10_en_air_gtbd_aih.exe.  This is the downloader and installer for Adobe Reader.
