Question

Adobe Spark

I have a question to ask about Adobe Spark.  I access it from my PC (Windows 10) as well as my laptop (Windows 8.1).

My PC is where I prefer to work; in order to add Audio to my videos, I need to utilize a plug in microphone using a plug-in jack.  My tower does indeed have a location for plugging my microphone in, however when I go to record it only records some distortion and really nothing at all.  It is funny because when I turn up the volume really high for playback, I can hear my recording ever-so-faintly.  The VERY first time I recorded, it worked.  My first two trial videos recorded sound normally.  Then all of a sudden it stopped.

My laptop is older and it has a built in microphone.  The quality of the recording is low, sounding like I am recording from a large tin can (echos a bit).  I have tried to plug in my mic to the only output jack available on it and it does not work either.  The port on my laptop shows a headset, not a microphone output, so I believe that might be the issue there.

Anyhow, I have found that if I go into my closet with my laptop and record the audio is better.  Ha!

Has anyone had experience with using a plug in mic to get better sound?  Does anyone know why Spark audio does not seem to work on my Win10 PC?  IF I could get that to work, things would be golden!

Thanks

Karla

HI Karla,

Are you sure that the problem is with Spark? Did you try recording sound using a different application like Audiacity?

The distance from the sound source to the microphone is quite important. That’s why speakers mouths are « gluded » to the mircophones ie they can position the microphone quite near to the mouth.

I would, out of the blind, suspect a configuration problem with your windows 10 system.
