AFTER EFFECTS HELP!

I'm having issues with After Effects. When I open it, the program says,

" Ray tracing on the GPU requires an approved NVIDIA graphics card and CUDA 5.0 or later. This may require installing the current disp;ay driver. For now, ray tracing will use the CPU. After installing CUDA 5.00 or later, restart your computer. For more info, see :  http://www.adobe.com/go/aeraytracedgpu"

THis is prohibiting me from using any templetes. What do I do? Anyone?

Im also having this same problem.

    I have V. 12.2.0.52

The video card im using is:

Graphics  ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB

I know this cuda thing is NVIDIA only drivers, but what about the rest of us who use ATI cards?

What gives? Any help please is much appreciated.

    Hi zilos,

Sorry for the confusion. GPU acceleration of ray-traced 3D compositions is only available with supported NVIDIA GPUs. Since you have an ATI card, you won't have this capability. The team does not plan to add ATI/AMD support for this feature. You can read about that in this blog post. Scroll down to the section, "GPU acceleration of rendering other than ray-traced 3D renderer."

The general advice is to use the newer 3D integration with Cinema 4D instead. It's a lot better to work this way and provides much more flexibiltiy in creating 3D compositions. Check out this video: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-after-effects-cc/introduction-to-cinema-4d-lite/

    Thanks,

    Kevin

[unnecessary remarks removed by moderator] this will not stop you from using any of these templates, they will just revert to CPU mode and be like a hundred times slower - just as the warning says.
