After Effects Installation

Question

I purchased After Effects on my MacBook and it just finished installing. I tried to open it but it an error popped up saying, "After Effects can't continue: Error while accessing the preference files. Please verify the file permissions and try again." How do I fix this?

close and then reopen your cc desktop app with root privileges (3 Ways to Open Applications With Root Privileges on a Mac (wikihow.com)).  install ae from the cc desktop app.
