Question

All Adobe software crashes Windows XP

I thought this problem was limited to Acrobat, but it seems to be ALL Adobe software.  When I open a PDF file, Windows XP Pro crashes.  OK, there's a problem with Adobe.  But then I opened Dreamweaver CS4 and Windows XP crashed there as well.  No other software crashes my computer, it appears to be ONLY Adobe software.

Anybody know why?  The problem is easily replicable and appears to be a vulnerability somewhere within Adobe itself.  But I have no idea where.  I really don't want to reinstall XP which would require a reinstall of all my software.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Run the Acrobat Cleaner Tool and the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, then reinstall your Adobe software. One of your shared components is busted.

Thank you!  I'll try that and see what happens.  I agree with you that a shared component must be causing the problem, but don't know what it is or how to find/fix it.  This gives me a possible solution.  If it doesn't work, then I'll take Preran's advice.
