Question

Almost no bandwidth left during update

Hello group,
When I perform updates via my PC (Windows 11) or my MacBook Pro (14.2.1), there is no more bandwidth available in the entire network and the computers become extremely slow when working online.
I have a 100 MBit line, which should be fast enough.
I have always had this problem, even in other networks, e.g. when I work in another household.
What is the problem?
I can no longer work during the update and cannot hold a video conference.

Thanks for ideas

Stefan

How are you measuring the bandwidth of the network to assume this is the issue? There are a lot of factors that could be in play with a computer slowdown. It likely is not the internet connection if you can move to other locations and still have the issue. What are the specs of both computers? How much free memory do they have when you try to update? Is it only Adobe updates that are causing this?

Also if you open Creative Cloud and click on updates there is a button to manage auto updates. You can disable auto updating so the apps only update when you want them to. Have you tried this?

I didn't measure it, because if you start the update on the MAC and start the browser on the PC and nothing happens, you don't need to measure it! If the update is done, all works correctly again.

I wrote - I can change the location (20 km away!) and then I have the same issue.

Yes, I now the auto update - but this isn't a solution for me. I want the possibility to work until the update is running - easy. 😉

AND: In between I reinstalled the system (Windows) complete, while changing the hardware.
I reinstalled also the complete CC software ... the same issue.

when you reinstalled windows, did you install the cc desktop app and then use it to install the cc apps, or did you migrate adobe cc?

Hi Stefan,

This does not sound ideal. Could you share system info(RAM, processor)? Also, do you reboot your system at regular intervals?

Please make sure you have ample space in your storage?

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Shivangi

Hi Shivangi,

yes. I shutdown my PC and my Mac every day and start it again.
I have enough space on the storage.

If I update CC on my PC other devices including the mobile devices like mobile phone, tablet and so on.
If I update CC on my MAC the PC and other devices are slow.

PC:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz 3.79 GHz
RAM 64,0 GB
Systemtyp 64-Bit-Betriebssystem, x64-basierter Prozessor

RAID: with 36 TB netto (8 hdd raid)

Mac:

Modellname: MacBook Pro
Modell-Identifizierung: Mac14,6
Modellnummer: Z174000TQD/A
Chip: Apple M2 Max
Gesamtanzahl der Kerne: 12 (8 Leistung und 4 Effizienz)
Speicher: 64 GB

2 TB

Sonoma 14.2.1

It doesn't depend on the PC or the MAC, because the issue is on both!

Thanks a lot

Stefan

Thanks for sharing system info. Could you also share the logs using log collector tool? https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html
