App Manager fails to install

In CS6 Design and Web Premium, after installing, when I try to start Application Manager, it says it is updating itself, but that ends with the message that it 'failed to install'. Any ideas?

try uninstalling and then reinstalling.

I can't find a way to uninstall App Manager and reinstall it separate from the whole Suite. I've already tried reinstalling the whole Suite with no success.
