Application Manager install fails (OS X)

I had CC suite for a couple of days, then bought a Lr Stand-alone licence and installed 6.2. Then deleted CC stuff, including Application Manager.

Just tried to install Lr 6.3, but it tells me I need Application Manager. D/l Application Manager v9 from here:

http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/creativesuite/cc/mac/ApplicationManager9.0_all.dmg

(Yes I know that this appears to be for CC, but it's the only one I can find)

which when I install it says "Updating Application Manager", complete with progress bar that runs to 100% - but Application Manager doesn't reappear in my MacBook's Applications Folder.

Tried restarting, no joy.

Clues, anyone, please ?

Hmm , have you tried downloading from below link ?

Download Photoshop Lightroom

No I hadn't, but I did ... and got v6.0 once again

BUT

Before installing this iteration of V6.0 I uninstalled the previous iteration not with Adobe's uninstaller app but with AppCleaner. After installing v6.0 again, when I went Help/Updates I found that updates were now available - and I have now updated to 6.3 . Note that whenever I checked help/updates on the v6.0 installs prior to this no updates were available.

It seems that AppCleaner did a better job of cleaning-up than did/does Adobe's jobbie.

Thanks for your help; it's always good to talk!

Thanks very much for this, in particular the clean-up tool which I wasn't aware of.

The upshot is, I have now re-installed Application Manager and this has allowed me to run the Lr stand-alone v6.3 update without any errors. But (and it's a big one) whereas Lightroom was telling me I had v6.2.1, post update it's now showing v6.0.

I think that this'll be subject to a new thread elsewhere.

Meanwhile I'll go back to Amazon where I bought the licence and see if the version available for download there is 6.3, or even my original download 6.2.1

Click on Help menu and then select Updates option .

Or you may also manually download and install LR 6.3 update.

Adobe Application Manager will get updated to Adobe Creative Cloud.

Check whether the Adobe Creative Cloud app is listed under Applications folder?
