I’m just a little confused as to why they would need to verify my credit card information for the refund. I just want to make sure that I’m not getting scammed.

Normally, a purchase made thru a credit card is credited back thru the credit card when a refund is processed.

To make sure you are not being scammed, contact Adobe Support to provide the information they need.  If someone is contacting you, then you will need to make sure they are an Adobe employee, again, likely by contacting Adobe Support to confirm they are.

it depends for which refund type .If it's standard refund ,they will not ask but if it's special refund for fees for example then they can ask .They can also ask to refund some charges on Paypal .

In any case, if it is you who called support you do not have to worry but if someone calls you, you have to be careful.

It's probably best to confirm with Adobe if there is a refund open. If Adobe has all the credit card information necessary for a refund, they should not need to ask. Contact customer support for this issue: Contact Customer Care

Things to beware of especially: "Adobe staff" contacting you by email when you didn't yet open a case, or asking for Skype contact (Adobe don't use Skype). Using a phone number you found in Google instead of on Adobe's web site (MANY fake Adobe support numbers on the web!). Tech support being offered for CS6 or older (Adobe won't do that). Inability to look up your account details. Asking for passwords. Many more!

And, of course, unexpected refunds. Refunds are rare.

...and only when the user asked to get the refund because he or she detected a processing error (double booking, canceled plan within the grace period of 14 days etc). Very rarely Adobe can detect such booking errors on their own.
