Question

Audition CS6 & Windows 11

I realize this has been discussed ad infinitum, but I'm trying to get a clear picture of what I'm going to need to do.

I have a Win7 desktop that I've never upgraded due to the myriad warnings about Audition CS6's alleged incompatability with Win10 and Win11 - but with support for more and more software being discontinued, I am finding myself in a jam without being able to upgrade my virus protection, browser, and other key programs. So my question is, if I install Win 11, will Audition CS6 work (I purchased in 2012 outright and do not pay a subscription)? And if it doesn't work, does that mean I'm relegated to subscribing for brand-new software in which I need to create all-new presets?

your most likely to succeed option is: disconnect that win 7 computer from the internet and continue to use it for your legacy apps.  use a different updated computer for your other apps/work/play.

otherwise, you'll probably have some problems.  eg, i doubt you can upgrade your win 7 computer to win 11.  if you can upgrade win 7 to win 10, you have a good chance of your cs6 continuing to work, so that's an alternative

True, but I can't justify hanging onto a giant desktop for the sole purpose of a program I use perhaps 5-8 times a month. Moreover, support for Win10 is supposedly going away very soon.

do you want to risk deactivation/activation on a win 10 or 11 computer?
