What software are you using to edit your film? I would suggest cutting the trailer in the same software. No reason to change it up.

Adobe Premiere Pro is an industry-standard video editing program. Major motion pictures like Deadpool, Hail, Caesar!, and Gone Girl have been cut on it. It works together pretty well with Adobe After Effects.

After Effects is used to do visual effects, compositing, and motion graphics.

So, if you're sticking with Adobe software, you'd use Premiere Pro to edit your film and your trailer and maybe use After Effects to make the titles and any visual effects for your trailer and movie.

To stay on the exact subject of the question: Premire Pro and After Effects are the only products of Adobe to do this...So they are the best. But there are other products out in competition with Adobe.
