Book disappeared

I left my laptop on its own for a while and when I came back, I had an error on the external HDD, and my book (with 190 pages after long weeks of work) had disappeared! What a shame of program, absolutely crap!

    You need to use your backups. Don’t blame the software if you neglect your backups. That’s shameful.

    The shame is a software that only does back-up when exiting the software! rather than eitehr do automatic back-up every now and them, as nowadays all decent software do, or have a buttom that you can click and do the back-up without exiting the software. I never thought I would be having problems with lightroom and since I updated to version 8, which forces me to have updated OS, it is one problem after another... really crap.
