Question

can CS5 be recovered from a hard drive crash?

My iMac had a hard drive crash and I recently purchased a new MacBook and am going to get a data recovery done soon. The place doing it is not sure if CS5 will be recovered if I do not have the serial #s. I have the CDs and case but since I bought these programs in 2009 I do not have the coupon that came inside the case with the product keys.

Is there any way Adobe can provide me with those keys from info on my CDs and case or by any other info? I don't want to lose them because of the hard drive crash and I do not have the means to purchase them all over again soon. I bought the programs at a very discounted price when I was a student.

Help!?

Depending on the terms of your student purchase, it may not be valid to use for commercial purposes now that you are no longer a student.

Regardless, if you registered your software with Adobe, it should be in your Adobe account.

That being said, CS5 might not work well on a new Mac OS. CS5 is starting to become rather old. Luckily, a Creative Cloud subscription is really inexpensive per month and you can have the latest versions of everything. (Although, if your new Mac is running Sierra, some things still might not work as Sierra has some weird bugs with Adobe software right now.)
