Can I install Acrobat X Pro on a Mac with OS X version 10.9.2?

I had Acrobat X Pro on my old Mac, which ran MAC OC X version 10.6.2.  I just bought a MacBook Pro, which runs OS X version 10.9.2.  The download (from a disk)  is hanging up, so I'm wondering if the disk does not work with the new version.
