Can I keep CS5.5 if I download CC?

I am currently getting a free subscription to CC through the place I work, but I already have CS5.5 installed on my MacBook. If for some reason, my free subscription ends, I don't want to have to pay for CC I'd like to just go back to 5.5. Is it possible to keep CS5.5 on my computer and also have CC installed?
