Can  I uninstall CS6 from my laptop and reinstall it even though I already have it on my desktop?  The reason for doing this is that the version I installed on my desktop a few days age has a completely different layout to Bridge than the CS6 I installed on my laptop this summer, and I am not sure I can configure the laptop layout into the one on my desktop, so uninstalling and reinstalling seems an easier solution than reconfiguring.

Yes you can uninstall and reinstall but make sure you deactivate the software first by going to the 'Help' menu and select 'deactivate' before uninstalling else it would increase the license activation count.

As per EULA (End User License Agreement), you cannot have more than 2 activations for a retail software. So, you must always deactivate the software before reinstalling it.

I uninstalled Creative Suite CS6 in preparation for upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

BUT I forgot to deactivate before uninstalling.  I hope all is not lost--do I need to reinstall CS6 to deactivate on this computer?  Windows 7 is still installed.

We automatically deactivate at uninstall. So I don't think you need to reinstall and deactivate.
