I have just paid for and downloaded Adobe Acrobat XI Standard but when I try to rgister it I get a message that the serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please try another. I know that the serial number is correct as I have it infront of me in the your downloads page.

I do not know what to do next. Can anyone help?

That is correct, you cannot upgrade from Reader to Acrobat.  Reader is free software, Acrobat is not.

To buy an upgrade version of Acrobat Standard requires you to own an earlier version of Acrobat Standard.  If you look at the product page it clearly indicates which version (9 or X) you need to have to qualify for installing/activating an upgrade when you select the purchase options...

The mention of "qualifying product" indicates that you are trying to install an upgrade version of a product.  When it is asking for the serial number relative to that message it is asking for the serial number of the version from which you are upgrading - the older version.

Thanks Ned, That's the problem, I thought that I would be able to upgrade from Adobe Reader but I can't.
