Can I upgrade from Elements 3 to the current Elements version and run this both on PC and MAC?

Question

I have an old Elements v3.0 and would like to upgrade this both for my PC and my MAC. Is this possible? I saw an offer on adobe.com but was not sure how far back this upgrade would be supported. And would it be possible to have both my MAC and PC software upgraded. (BTW: Currently there is no Elements on my MAC since the installation was not possible). What can I do?

As far as I know, the download version is platform specific, so you would need to buy separate downloads for Mac and Win

-but check the buying page to be sure Adobe Elements bundle | Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 & Adobe Premiere Elements 14

Also as far as I know, if you buy the BOXED version at a retailer it contains both Mac and Windows install discs

Thanks for the reply.Indeed, I do have a CDROM that contains both the Windows and the MAC version. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow me to install the MAC version (but it does so under Windows). I've heard this may have to do with the switch from the old 32-Bit version to the 64-Bit version some time ago, which caused backward problems on MACs. I suspect that this must have happened sometime when Elements v.10 was rolled out. I recently downloaded an old demo version of Elements v.10 and tried to upgrade this from my Elements v.3 license, which didn't work. Any ideas whether there is a chance to update the old version to a new(er) one?
