Question

Can I upgrade Photoshop CS 8.0 to run on OS X 10.6 NOT IN CLOUD?

I have a 2003 DVD Photoshop CS for Mac v. 8.0. I have run it on my Mac G4. I would like to run Photoshop on my iMac OS X 10.6, but I want to upgrade on my iMac, not in the Cloud. Is this possible? If so, how much would the upgrade cost?

No, there is no upgrade for Photoshop CS. It is far too old and out of any upgrade cycle.

You will be able to install Photoshop on your iMac OS X 10.6 but not your CS version 8.0.

Adobe shut down the activation server for CS2 (and older versions) a few years ago so even if you install your CS version, you will not be able to activate it.

Adobe has made available a non-activation version of CS2 (also applies to CS owners).

Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3

Download CS2 (CS is no longer available) from the above link and use the new non-activation serial number provided at that link. Your existing serial number will no longer work.

Thanks so much for clarifying this for me, John. I guess the answer

is, for now (until I win the lottery or whatever), that I'll hang onto

my old G4 as well as the iMac, and just work on the very old (in

computer years) system when I need PS.
