can not open creative cloud app

Yesterday my standalone lightroom 6 refused to open (MAC OS 10.01.5).  I would only get initial splash screen.  I have tried restarting many times and even upgrading to latest 6.2 version.  after  reading countless threads and posts across the internet, none of the posted solutions seem to work.  I have downloaded creative cloud app but that will not run.  I deleted all the files in the OOBE folder and that, the first time I tried it, helped a little and the app tried to launch but only a blank screen came up.  Oddly, my older version of Photoshop will not run as well (CS6) which has nothing to do with creative cloud (or so I thought).  ideas?
