Can not reactivate Photoshop CS6 extended

Question

After using the trial version, my friend gave me a serial number. I was using it for a while, then my internal Hard Drive malfunctioned. It was covered with Apple's replacement program. My problem is: When I'm about to use it again (with my new HD installed), photoshop was asking for the serial number again and when I checked, I lost most of my files because my time machine backup was not activated (filled-up). My fault is, I did not register my serial number with Adobe. Can anyone help me on how to retrieve my serial number?

It is not your serial number unless your friend formally transferred ownership to you. Your friend was actually in violation of his license agreement to have given you his serial number unless he did the formal transfer.
