can't access free trial - password problem

I have just tried to download free trial. I use my email address, and add name. When I click on the dmg file to download acrobat, I get asked for my password. It says password is incorrect, even although I have reset and inserted very carefully.

install the cc desktop app from here https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and use it to install your adobe subscription and trial programs.

That is what I did. I fill in my bank details, then click start free trial. This downloads an acrobat installer file. When I click on this, it displays user name, and asks for password as installer wants to make changes. I put in my adobe password (as per password used on this site ) but it doesn't accept it

you're probably using a mac and being prompted for your mac's password.
