Can't download a free trial?

So I've been trying to download a free trial of InDesign CC, note I have never gotten a free trial of any other program, for my mac which has High Sierra as the software. I am able to download the installer plugin, but then when I double click on the icon like it tells me to, it opens a new window that just has a loading circle for about 5 minutes and then says it can't reach the adobe servers (error code P206). It suggests checking my Internet connection, and since I'm writing this it obviously is fine. That's its only suggestion. I've restarted my computer several times and unplugged and plugged back in my router. I also have no firewall settings on my computer. Any ideas?

what's your os?

did you install the cc desktop app from here https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and use it to install your adobe subscription and trial programs?

confirm that you can connect to the secure adobe servers by reading, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html. do you see both logos?
