Can't install Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

Hello,

I'm trying to reinstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on a customer's system.  After the CD install I tried launching the application but I immediately get the message:

Adobe Application Manager is needed to resolve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the Application Manager from 'http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager'.

I download Adobe Application Manager but when I try installing that I get the following:

We've encountered the following issues

Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.

When I click the link to get Adobe Support Advisor I get the following:

The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued

The Adobe Support Advisor tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I was able to get it working by dragging the /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager folder from working machine to the one in question and Acrobat launched fine after that.

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

    if cc (win):  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-application-failed.html

    if, your error is:

"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."

first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.

    to find OOBE:

64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE

32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE

    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps

    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB

if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.

if you're using a dvd to install:

copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.

    if you're using a mac:

    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.

    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them

    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.

    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.

    5. Start the installation again.

if everything applicable above fails, check your installation logs:

Some more info: I am on a Mac, not using CC.  As for the troubleshooting steps,

There isn't an OOBE folder in HD>library>application support>adobe>caps

so I wasn't sure what to do there.

I renamed the OOBE folder in Library > Application Support > Adobe but that had no affect on installing Application Manager.

I uninstalled Acrobat using the Adobe uninstaller, trashed everything in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe and /Library/Application Support/Adobe, then installed Acrobat again.  The installation says it's successful but it wants me to reinstall Application Manager.  I download Application Manager from here:

Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh

but I'm still getting the same message about installer failing to initialize...
