We have a Dell with Windows Vista, 2.5G RAM, 27G of hard drive free, 32 bit op system. We can't install Elements 13. We get as far as installation, enter our Adobe i.d. and pin, then the little squares keep circling and circling and never connect or go further. The installation doesn't happen, and we have to restart computer to get the circling to quit.
Thanks, KGlad! We have Win 8.1 on another computer, a newish HP, and can't seem to master it. We extremely dislike Win8, so we don't use the HP, and don't want Win8 on the Dell laptop. What about Win7 for this Dell with its present specs and capabilities? Can we put Win7 on it, and would it work? Could we then instal Elements 13? We have a lot of pictures and docs on the Dell, also some programs like Picasa 3 and InMotion Hosting, use them regularly, and can't afford to lose anything. you don't have much hd space. you have enough to upgrade to win 7 (Windows 7 system requirements - Windows Help) but will probably have issues soon after that.
give 8.1a chance. it's much better than win8.
the desktop in win 8.1 is just like the normal win interfaces of recent vintage.
